Returning is a body of work that started to materialise during the first few weeks of lockdown. What at the time started to feel like incagement, the fluidity of paint was calling as the only next right move. Formal narratives passed through me and onto panel, like a download, a means of intuitively purging motion, observation, and feelings into creation.
Moving through the blocks of rigidity the paintings play into the concept of returning. Some visuals are heavy, while others are light and airy. There is no right or wrong, simply the space which exists in-between, the present - a reachable ideal one can always return to. Never a concluded reality, but a constant evolution.
